This week on In The Flow, I sit down with my dear friend, Abby Mickey for a candid conversation on life as a professional cyclist, her struggles through a tumultuous career, nutrition, and what life now looks like after transitioning out of professional sports.
For the unfamiliar, abby is a fellow mountain person that grew up in Aspen, Colorado and recently stepped away from a career as a professional cyclist, racing for elite level teams like UnitedHealthcare and Rally Pro Cycling. Abby has been in the midst of one of the most demanding sports on the planet, and struggled with the pressures and challenges that far too often come with being a high level endurance athlete. I'm incredibly grateful to her for sharing a bit of her story on in the flow, and to open up about some of the darker sides of sport.
